Job Summary: The Sausage Kitchen Team Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for assisting in the supervision of daily operations in the sausage kitchen, ensuring product consistency and adherence to food safety standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead the sausage kitchen team, ensuring all production targets, quality standards, and timelines are met.
  • Operate all sausage production equipment, including but not limited to the bowl cutter, smokehouse, stuffing and linking machines.
  • Assist in preparing and batching meat according to production recipes and specifications.
  • Ensure proper handling and preparation of meat mixtures, seasonings, and casings.
  • Uphold strict adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and food safety protocols at all times.
  • Monitor production processes and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Supervisory experience is required (experience in food manufacturing or meat processing is preferred).
  • Willingness and ability to learn and operate all kitchen machinery and production equipment.
  • Ability to learn how to properly batch meat according to company standards and recipes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Knife skills are an asset, but not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Essential Functions:
  • Cold production environment (temperature-controlled), exposure to extreme temperatures (freezers).
  • Physically demanding (lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing and pulling up to 100lbs, standing for extended periods, bending and twisting, repetitive tasks and manual dexterity).
  • Fast-paced and deadline-driven.
  • Early morning start, flexibility in scheduling required.
